Where is my data? On your device. If iCloud is switched on, also in your own private iCloud database. Nobody else has access — not even the developer of this app. No accounts are created.
Does the app work abroad without an internet connection? Yes. Prices, documents, emergency numbers and the whole itinerary are available offline. Only map search, exchange rates, flight status, weather and music recognition need a connection.
Why aren’t my expenses converted to euros? Enter the local currency and its rate on the trip. Without a rate the app shows the amounts unchanged rather than calculating something wrong — and it says so, noting that the total is only an approximation.
Where does the exchange rate come from? On request, from the European Central Bank’s reference rates. That source knows roughly 30 currencies; the Tunisian dinar, Moroccan dirham and Egyptian pound are not among them. For those you enter the rate by hand.
The price list wasn’t read correctly. Make sure the name and the price sit on one line, or cleanly below one another in two columns. Photograph straight on and in good light. You can deselect individual lines before accepting them, and edit everything afterwards.
My booking confirmation isn’t recognised. Document scanning expects German-language documents — the scanners look for German wording (“Zahlung erhalten”, “Liegezeit”, “Economy Class”). An English confirmation will therefore not be read. Everything you enter by hand works regardless.
Which reminders do I get, and which can I switch off? You can switch off the reminders for meal times, for appointments and the morning summary — in Settings. You cannot switch off the five whose absence costs you the trip: departures by plane and train (the evening before and shortly beforehand), the all-aboard time (90 and 30 minutes beforehand), returning the hire car, and instalments of the trip price falling due (one week before and the day before).
Flight status isn’t working. It needs your own AeroDataBox key via RapidAPI, which you enter in Settings. That way nobody else runs up costs, and no third-party credentials sit inside the app.
Why is the flight status alert late? iOS decides when background checks run, not the app. Real push notifications would require a server of my own.
How do I share a trip? Open the trip and tap “Mit Personen teilen”. Sharing runs through iCloud and can be withdrawn at any time. Important: the whole trip is shared — expenses, addresses, documents, and the passport and ID details of your fellow travellers. Leaving individual parts out is not something the framework supports, and the app says so before you share for the first time. If you only want to pass on an extract, use the PDF export.
Where are my backups? In the Files app under Bordmappe › Sicherungen. The app backs up once a day by itself (five versions per trip, in the Automatisch subfolder) and, in addition, after every change into a file named “… – Letzter Stand.reisemappe”. A deleted trip is no longer overwritten — its backups stay.
How do I delete everything? Individual entries and whole trips can be deleted inside the app. Deleting the app removes the local data; with sync switched on, the iCloud copy goes too. The backup files in Files disappear with the app as well — copy them out first if you want to keep them.
